Do you have an active employee safety and health program that covers general safety and health in the workplace, as well as the management of hazards specific to your worksite?

     
Do you have one person clearly responsible for the overall activities of the safety and occupational health program?      
Do you have a health and safety issues committee or group that includes management and worker representatives that meets regularly and reports in writing on its safety and health in the workplace activities?      
Do you have a working procedure for handling employee complaints regarding safety and health?      
Do you communicate with your employees regarding the efforts you and/or the safety committee make to ensure a safe and healthy worksite?      
Do you have incentives for employees who have excelled in reducing workplace injury and illness?      

This OSHA and Workplace Safety Program Checklist is NOT all-inclusive.  You should add to them or skip parts that are not applicable to your company.  Carefully consider each item, and refer to OSHA standards for complete and specific health and safety guidelines that may apply to your work environment.  This safety and health in the workplace list is typical for general industry, not construction or maritime.  OSHA and workplace safety training available here.
